Plantar Wart Removal using Duct Tape does Really Work? Ok, if you’ve been researching plantar wart treatment online, you have probably come across a site or two telling you that you can get rid of your plantar warts with duct tape.
Reality check. It doesn’t work! Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE duct tape, and it can fix just about anything, but it’s not going to get rid of your plantar warts.
This is from first hand experience, as I went a whole summer walking around with that damn silver tape and glue stuck to the the bottom of my left foot, without any signs of relief. Talk about a huge waste of time!
I should have done more research ahead of time, but I was so desperate to treat my plantar warts and get rid of them, that I was willing to try anything, so duct tape it was! Which looks worse I thought to myself, Duct Tape plastered to the bottom of my foot, or the warts themselves? At least the duct tape covered the warts!
It turns out Plantar Wart Removal using Duct Tape doesn’t stick to your foot very long, because you’re feet release moisture throughout the the day. When it did stick, there was always someone willing to point out to me, “Hey, looks like you stepped on something there!” or “You’ve got something on the bottom of your foot!” How embarrassing!!
I continued to search, and eventually got so fed up with them, that I took the plunge and scheduled an embarrassing appointment with my doctor. He froze the warts and I went home happy as I figured that would be the end of my plantar wart blues. WRONG! I learned out the hard and expensive way, freezing plantar warts often does not kill the warts completely.
To make matters worse, now my husband had them on his feet, more than likely because we used the same shower. Luckily one day I was talking to my sister and I mentioned that my hubby now had the warts too.
My sister is very well versed in homeopathic care and she came over a week later with a little blue bottle and told me to scrub the wart with a pumice stone to get rid of the dead skin, and then to put this oil on the wart and to repeat daily.
What did I have to lose? This was a lot easier than trying to kill my plantar warts with duct tape, so I gave it a shot, and as they say, the rest is history. After about a week/week and a half they were noticeably smaller, and after about two weeks they were totally gone and haven’t come back since. That was over 2 years ago now. We ordered another bottle online for my husband, and his warts disappeared in about a month.
So….I hope to prevent you from trying to use duct tape to get rid of your plantar warts and save you the embarrassment that I went thru
